Time flies

The last couple of weeks, and especially yesterday, I have been reminded how fast times flies. It's very hard to grasp that the last ten years have passed in what seems to me a blink of an eye. It makes me realise that life is really short and we have to live every day the fullest and live for tomorrows.

Yesterday was the tenth anniversary of this song and I can still vividly remember that I was getting my hair dyes or a new hair cut when they started to play ITS on television. I looked at the clip in awe and fell immediately in love with it and with the band. Especially the singer drew my attention. I never stopped loving them since and I probably will always love them.

I haven't changed much in ten years, I think. I grew up and became an "adult" (well I can still be a 16 year old teenager) but at the core I'm still the very same person. I still love the same things: I still listen to the same bands as 10 years ago (okay I've got to know some new ones, but with exception of a few my favourites are still the same), I still love horses, I still adore reading (and it are still the same kind of stores) and I still write. What has changed, however, is that I finally find something interesting to study and that I'm a lot more afraid of things that I used to be. I'm afraid to take risks. Ten years back I wasn't afraid to fall of a horse or ride a difficult horse but now I dread going for a walk with my horse because he is so tense than. When he starts being difficult I jumped as fast as I can from his back because I'm terrified something will happen. Honestly I hate that but there is nothing I can do about it I think. It might have something to do with an accident an acquaintance of mine had. She died because the horse she was riding got spooked and fell off it. I hate it that I have to think everything through. I want to be reckless again, I don't want to think about the possible consequences all the time but I do. It's annoying and it makes me feel like I miss out on a lot of fun.

Perhaps those ten years have changed me more than I thought. Well live is to short to regret and worry about the past. I should look forward and embrace the future and try to fight my demons instead of wishing to be as I ones was.

A new year, a fresh start: resolutions.

Since last year was a terrible year for me, I decided to pick some resolutions so I have something to work on. I know I wont be able to fill them all in and I have to pick some and skip other for later.I really need this so I have something to focus on! I should print this and paste it on my wall above my desk!  Now, onwards then.

  • Get a job
  • Spend less time being bored and spend more time doing stuff
  • read at least 25 books
  • explore different genres of books/movies/games/series
  • Get rid of my insecurities
  • Get a drivers licence
  • Buy a second hand car
  • Rent a house/ flat with my BF
  • Buy a second horse
  • Lose some weight (get one size smaller at least!)
  • Worry less
  • Be more optimistic
  • Finish my Harry Potter fanfic
  • Continue writing and expanding my idea for an original story
  • Do more stuff with friends
  • Pick up photography again
  • Go to London for a (mid)week and visit the Harry Potter sets
  • Keep my room clean
  • Help my parents more in house
  • Think less, do more and dare to be reckless
  • Buy a computer so I don't have to use this shitty laptop any more (and I'll be loads happier)
  • Take better care of myself
  • Work hard to make one of my dreams come true

Job rant

I'm looking for a job for about a year, but I must say that I didn't always put a lot of effort in it, and I have been doubting a lot what I really wanted to do with my life (and I'm still not really sure.) But now I decided to go for it. I am going to be a little picky, since I don't want to end up doing something that I absolutely hate. I want to be able to get out of bed in the morning, feeling good and wanting to go to work.

I'm a bit ashamed of myself of sitting home and doing nothing for a year, but I have the feeling I needed that. A break from life. Just sitting home, doing nothing. But now that period is over and I'm ready to go for it, for 200%! I want a job so I can buy a desktop computer, because my laptop, or better failtop, is dying slowly. I also want my drivers license and a car. I'm not a big fan of cars, but I was so frustrated this morning when I missed my bus that I want to be selfish and say: screw the environment, I want a fucking car! The third thing I want is money to buy and take care of a second horse or to go and live with my BF, not sure what will happen first, time will tell.

Future...

It has been ages since I last blogged and I kind of gave it up because I have the feeling no one cares or reads it, but I decided I don't care (too much).

Since my last blog (end of September) loads of (bad) things happened, but I don't want to talk about that right now. Perhaps later, perhaps never. I'm really thrilled the new year is coming and I do have the feeling I'm going to make a fresh start. At first I want to rid my self of my insecurities and be proud of who I am. Next I want to find a job and at last I want to lose weight.

Also the approaching of the new year made me wonder what I really want in live. There are a few things I really want to do, but they are still out of reach, unfortunately. So I need to find something closer to focus on. To go for. I've been slacking around for a year now, and that needs to be done. I want to go on but I am afraid of routine. Doing the same thing every day like I am doing right now. On the other hand it has some sense of security.

I also have some regrets. Regrets that I didn't try harder for my studies, because it could have been a great experience. But then I wouldn't be busy with horses right now and I would probably not be able to find a job here in Belgium and I am reluctant to leave everything behind.

I would love to become a writer, but right now, I don't have the character for it. I can't focus enough to write a story and I am still so in experienced. Another thing I would love to become: a professional photographer, but I think I am not good enough to stand out.

Aagh I have the feeling I'm stuck in this big black pit and I just can't crawl out of it. It's frustrating!
